TRUST Partners with OPEN Voices to Shape Singapore's Health Data Research Ecosystem

TRUST has partnered with the OPEN Voices patient collective at Nanyang Technological University’s Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine for an initiative to put community voices at the centre of health data research decisions in Singapore.

Nearly 40 patients, caregivers, and community members shared their perspectives in an interactive focus group session, revealing surprising insights about public willingness to contribute health data and expectations around genuine partnership in research priority-setting. 

Patient partners such as Mr Ellil Mathiyan Lakshmanan highlighted ways he felt he could contribute to the development of a platform such as TRUST and how patients could help facilitate data collection and assure others about data safety. 

Their feedback is already shaping how TRUST approaches Singapore's unique challenges in health data research, from rare disease studies to community engagement strategies.
