A key highlight was the collaborative spirit across all teams in TRUST. I particularly valued when we came together to solve complex infrastructure challenges, combining our skills to ensure our systems remained resilient and secure for users.

TRUST significantly accelerated my technical growth beyond my accounting background through its commitment to cutting-edge technologies. Most importantly, it expanded my understanding of health technology far beyond traditional hospital systems, exposing me to fascinating fields like genomics and bioinformatics that I’d never encountered before. This has fundamentally broadened my perspective on how technology can transform healthcare.

My journey at TRUST provided valuable insights into the intersection of data analysis and governance within Singapore’s research ecosystem. With a background in biology and analytics, I experienced firsthand how TRUST enabled secure yet efficient analysis of healthcare data. The collaborative environment fostered open discussions among colleagues and between stakeholders to bridge analytical capabilities and practical implementation.TRUST, I gained experience with cutting-edge technology on data exploitation and saw first-hand the possibilities in unlocking significant health insights for Singapore.

TRUST is a place where everyone, regardless of specialty, can contribute to co-create something which will impact health and healthcare. As a molecular biologist by training, my scientific background allows me to appreciate the importance of research, data, and analytics which guided me to develop enabling policies and governance to support data driven innovation.

As a secondee (from the Infocomm Media Development Authority), I appreciated the opportunity to bring my existing skills in data sharing, governance and privacy to a new field. TRUST is a multi-agency effort, and it was a rich experience to collaborate with such a diverse group of colleagues. In my time with TRUST, I gained experience with cutting-edge technology on data exploitation and saw first-hand the possibilities in unlocking significant health insights for Singapore.

My internship opened my eyes to the demands and rigour of a professional career at a government Ministry. In particular I learned the importance of effective communication, and the need to be clear and direct to prevent misunderstandings. This skill has also served me well in my current role a an occupational therapy student. My mentors patiently guided me through my internship journey, allowing me to grow in the process. It was an enriching experience.

I learned the ins and outs of a successful large-scale project, the considerations made when ensuring safe data usage, and how the pipeline of such a big project is managed. It was very eye-opening to see the tech concepts I learned in school being applied in a real-world setting. One thing that has stayed with me since is how to communicate effectively with different stakeholders. This soft skill has helped me in my day-to-day interactions as well as when working with others in a professional setting.
