Time to Treatment Initiation and Survival in a Cohort for Different Types of Cancers using Singapore Cancer Registry Data

The time interval between cancer diagnosis and the start of the treatment, known as time to treatment initiation (TTI), is a critical factor in cancer management. Delays in TTI can significantly affect survival outcomes. The study investigates the trends in TTI for different cancer types in Singapore from 2006 to 2020, including an analysis of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the treatment timelines and survival outcomes.

Aims
1. To examine the association between TTI and survival outcomes for cancer patients in Singapore.
2. To identify demographic (e.g. age, gender) and clinical factors (e.g. tumour stage, treatment type) that influence TTI in Singapore.
3. To evaluate the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the TTI and survival outcomes in Singapore.
