The rising prevalence of diabetes in an ageing population poses a significant public health challenge. Diabetes accelerates geriatric conditions such as sarcopenia, frailty, and cognitive impairment, and the metabolic heterogeneity of diabetes in older adults may further influence the development and progression of these complications.
